Matt Dillon is special in so many ways. It begins with being the only Buck Skin Gaited John Mule I know of in the USA.
He is just good looking. His well developed muscular body reminds me of some local high school sporting kid that works out at the gym. He carries himself in a proud way. He is powerful and light footed so his gait comes to him easy in any terrain the trail throws at him. His handsome head is carried on a strong neck mounted on a massive chest. His well defined muscled torso is carried on four black pillars that pound the pavement in the sweetest four beat gait anywhere. If that is not enough, when you stick a spur in him he powers up into a rocking chair short lope! When you climb onboard you know it’s going to be a sweet ride.
He loves moving those black pillars we will refer to as legs from now on. For this reason he slips into a back with ease. He even does a small side pass and could learn that easily. I think he would fun in a team penning competition. Dillon is always ready to move out any time any place.
He has learned to accept discipline. He has lost as much of his agenda as I care to take from him. Gives his head and submit to the rider’s direction. These are important points in the development of an obedient, domesticated mule that listens when you whisper and learns from you instead of rebelling.
Take a hard look at the photos of his face. A prettier mule head I have not seen. Full muzzle, nice jaw line, light brow, and topped with a crowning set of ears to die for.
