Anyone can safely ride Annabelle
Annabelle On The Lane
Annabelle is a stocky, 15 hand, 8 year old racking molly out of a quality pleasure Tennessee Walker mare and a gaited jack. Shiny black with a brown nose, she has an appealing expression, a pretty head and she’s very easy on the eyes. At 15 hands, she’s the perfect size-- stocky enough a big man can ride her, but still small enough that kids and petite folks will still feel comfortable.
Great trail companion
Creeks and Trails
You don’t get much more solid than You don’t get much more solid than Annabelle! This molly delivers the kind of ride that gets the old folks and nervous riders out of their rocking chairs and back into the saddle. She is kind, consistent, and very mellow without ever crossing the line into “pokey.” Annabelle will move out to the comfort-level of her rider, whether they’re 6 or 66. Even though she’s not the kind to waste energy on foolishness, she’s far from lazy-- she does like to go, but only when you ASK.!

Gaiting on the road
Ride around the pond

If you’re new to gaited mounts, this molly has a gait progression that makes it easy for a beginner to ride correctly and find the “sweet spot” in her gaits. The secret? It’s ALL sweet spot! Like many racking horses and mules, She moves through her gait progression without ever taking a step of trot or canter. This makes her an uncomplicated, push-button glide ride, even for someone who’s just learning the joys of going gaited! Although Annabelle stands perfectly for mounting right now, she’ll also be learning to lay down on command, in case there are no logs handy to stand on. On the trail and out and about, she’s a solid citizen. Nothing upsets her, and we’ve been exposing her to everything that’s out there. Dogs, ATV’s, noisy tractors, tarps, traffic and extreme trail obstacles-- she doesn’t mind. She’ll climb up, over or through anything you point her at. And she doesn’t need you to be confident-- she has plenty confidence of her own. On the ground, she has a lot to love about her. She’s sweet and affectionate without being pushy, and is excellent for the farrier. She acts like she’s been shown at some point before, baths and body clipping seem like second nature to her, and she’s also content in a stall. We’ve been spending some time getting to know her, and we suspect that she is waiting for her own special person. She can be difficult to catch until she’s learned to trust you on the ground. Then, a bucket of grain and she is yours  Although she’s also easy to tack up, she does expect to be bridled slowly because her ears are sensitive. Many mules are “relationship” mules, and really crave the close bond with one particular person. Our hunch is that Annabelle is going to really blossom once she has someone to love her. Even still, her honesty under saddle and unflappable nature have made her a staff favorite. She’s the kind of mule that everyone’s looking for, and never re-sells once they own. If you need a high-caliber confidence builder and enjoy the process of making a life-long friend, Annabelle could be the one you’ve been waiting for!
